The Challenge
Wind Telecommunications wanted to evaluate 2G and 3G operations for periodic benchmarking campaigns for efficiency and number of customers.
The LCC Team
Since September 2002, LCC Italia has been working in collaboration with Wind Telecommunication spa.
Scope of Work
LCC provides design, measurement implementation, post processing, analysis and reporting according to the Quality and Optimization Department of Wind. This collaboration, through realization of periodic benchmarking campaigns, allows:
Comparative analysis of the offered QoS (Quality of Service) by all operator as perceived by the end user
- Comparative analysis identification of the strengths and weaknesses of the network and services versus that of the competitors
- Evidence of geographical areas with problems
- Identification of problems and potential solutions

Wind has experienced remarkable improvements in terms of QoS offered by its network. Specifically, the network has seen:
- 500.000 km driven in two years
- All regions monitored
- A staff of 10 people employed in the project
- More than 100 indoor location monitors (airport, railway station, shopping center, museum and bank)
- A working model exported to many European nations.
