From its inception almost 24 years ago, LCC has been asked by clients to solve engineering, deployment, operational and business challenges that had never before been addressed. Research projects are customized to need. LCC’s custom practice also delivers tools that have not yet been invented. One LCC client–a provider of satellite services–sought a new way to measure signal performance; we designed and built the equipment and software they required.

LCC has played an active part in the success of many wireless technologies. We designed the first GSM network, and participated in the original CDMA field trials and in the large-scale deployment of CDMA and W-CDMA technology. The company’s current wireless technology practice combines specialist deployment expertise in both mobile, digital broadcast and fixed wireless access, including EDGE, UMTS, OFDM and WiMAX

deployments.

Often staffed by the many talented PhDs and engineers within LCC, these projects include some of the most intractable challenges imaginable. As in the past, some of the research discoveries go on to be commercially available for others. Many will become accepted industry best practices. Some will remain proprietary intellectual property of our customers. But the fact remains that LCC continues to search across disciplines to invent completely new services with the power to fundamentally change the way our clients are able to do business.
